Linky Tuesday oopps its Thursday

Whatever happened to this week. One minute it was Tuesday and I thought I must write a post and link up with Connie at Freemotion by the river, and the next minute its Thursday! Work yet again has managed to get in the way. Retirement must be the way to go.

This week has so far been spent on cutting the sashing and corner posts for my winter quilt. and working on my Nancy Drew project. Don't forget to visit Sew we quilt for today's schedule

I've already shown the cutting phase of this projects and here is another sneaky peek

You'll have to wait until Wednesday to see what I've made.
I was hoping to have finished my bird embroidery but that was not to be so here's how far I've got.

Another evening and it will be finished. I'm not sure what I'm going to use this piece for once it's completed. I have also started two pieces for the 'Stitch me up' hop. A quick peek at the small piece. the bigger piece is much more interesting but you'll have to wait.

I'm part way through knitting another blanket. I'm using the same basket weave pattern but this time the recipient will be Battersea dog and cats home. I've been given a lot of double knitting wool that isn't in suitable colours or isn't soft enough for baby blankets. As the home is always after blankets for the animals I thought I'd use it up this way. When the animals are rehoused they take their blanket with them so they have something that's familiar to them as they start their new life. Picasso still has his blanket that came with him seven years ago and he still uses it everyday when he's cuddled up in his basket. From next week we are starting teaching the Guides to knit as they want to make blankets for the home. We're going to get them to knit squares and sew them together to make the blankets. I think this will be easier for the girls as there will be less stitches needed.

The rest of what I've been doing I can't show because its a secret at present.

This weekend I wont have much sewing time on Saturday because it is our Guide county training day. However on Saturday afternoon I am leading a training showing the leaders how to make the prem baby quilts and giving them ideas on how they could get the girls making quilts for sick children. Although it wont be a relaxing sewing session at least I get to sew and hopefully we will complete several quilts.

Tomorrow the winter blues blog hop party begins with give aways. Come back tomorrow to see what I'm giving away and go to Quilting gallery to see the full list of participating blogs. The button is on my side bar.

Hope you all have a great day.
