August goals

If you're looking for the HO HO HO post please click HERE

It's that time of the month for setting some goals. Over the last couple of months I haven't been very good at achieving those goals so last month I kept them short.

First the goals I set myself this month.

1. Finish the swoon quilt top. At the start of the month I had 6 blocks left to make. 5 of those blocks are made so I now have 1 block to make and to add the sashing in order to complete the top.

2. Make my project for the HO HO HO hop. My day was August 2nd and I showed my new Christmas table topper.

The finished table toper is 15 inches square and is made to go on my coffee table in the living room. The traditional red, green and gold were chosen to match my tree which is always decorated with these colours.

 3. Start 'It's a Dogs Life' embroidery.

I've made a start on this and I think this is going to be a fun quilt to make.

4. Work on my cross stitch pieces.

I've been doing this and must post some photos.

So all in all July was a good month. I didn't quite finish my main goal but I am now very close to completing the quilt top.

So what are my goals for August? I am away in Switzerland with my Guides for two weeks in August so I'm not planning very much as I will have little free time. Here's what I'd like to get done

1. Complete the swoon quilt top

2. Complete my project for the 'Hexie Queen' hop at the end of August. I haven't started this yet but know exactly what I want to make. I just need a quick trip to my local quilt shop for a final piece of fabric..

3.Work on the 'It's a dogs life' block I've started. I don't think I'll get this finished this month as I'm not planning on taking it away with me.

4. Votes for women BOW. I'm a few blocks behind - well quite a lot so I'd like to make 6 blocks to help me catch up. The last block was posted yesterday

I'm sticking with just 4 goals as I think I can achieve these. I may decide to take a piece of cross stitch with me to work on whilst away but I'll decide nearer the time.

I'm linking this post with Melissa from Sew Bittersweet Designs for 'A lovely year of finishes' goal setting party and with Lynne at Never 2 hot 2 stitch for the '2013 The year of the finished project' link party. Why not go and see what everyone is planning for August.

I hope you've got some plans for stitching and other creative activities during August.

Lyndsey
