Goodbye to November.

This weekend has been a lot of fun. On Friday I worked from home and paced myself, I hour working and then half an hour completing some chores. By this method I managed to complete a lot of work and at the same time vacuumed the downstairs, dusted and did some ironing. Overall not a bad day. Having completed my work I got the machine out and managed to finish the quilting on the Christmas quilt. I had hoped to have this finished so I could give it to my son in law and family but I need to add the binding and stitch it down to the back. I'm very pleased with how it's looking. I kept the quilting simple and used the walking foot throughout. Although that didn't get finished I did complete my grandson's rainbow hat. They visited this morning and I was able to give it to him. One very happy grandson.

Grandson was very pleased with the size of the pompom! On Saturday we went over to their house as my daughter at 33 weeks pregnant wasn't feeling great. John and I had a fun time entertaining our grandson. We completed jigsaws, played memory games, played with his trains and his penguin balancing game and threw pompoms at each other. I was worn out at the end of the day but very happy.

Today (Sunday) I drew out the pattern for my embroidery advent calendar. This is what it should look like once completed.

I used my light box and a black pen that will disappear once you iron over it. I should be able to complete a little embroidery each day but they are tiny and so will be rather fiddly.

I had hoped to get the St Louis 16 patch blocks sewn together over the weekend but having fun with family took priority. However I decided the quilt will be a rectangle using 6 blocks by 8 blocks to make the quilt. I'm hoping to get home early tomorrow so I can sew them together.

This week in blog land Carol from Just let me quilt is hosting the Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange. Here are the blogs taking part.

I need to finish writing my post and get my Christmas sewing finished.

Take Care

Lyndsey
