Here is the completed embroidery.
I still need to wash and gently press it but I'm very happy with the final result.
I visited my local fabric store yesterday and found these two fabrics. I'm going to use the green wool fabric to make a jacket and the checked fabric is destined to be a skirt. I can't wait to get started on them.
I also got my Votes for Women quilt out ready to start the quilting. I thought I had wrapped this up well so that it wouldn't be affected by the dust when the house was rewired but unfortunately it was covered in dust. I had folded it so the backing fabric was outermost so I unpinned the quilt sandwich and put the backing in the washing machine. Over the weekend I'll iron the backing, re bast the quilt and get started on the quilting. I'm hoping to finish this quilt this month.
I'm linking this post with Link a finish Friday at Richard and Tanya Quilts and with Amanda's Finish it up Friday at Crazy Mom Quilts. I wonder if I could manage another finish next Friday.

Congrats on your finish, I love your quilt!
ReplyDeleteWell done on finishing your cross stitch, it is lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch is adorable. I think those fabrics look great together. Are you planning for the two to go together? What a bummer to have to take that quilt sandwich apart. It's such a pain to make them that you don't want to have to do that more than once.
ReplyDeleteBravo on your finish!! Will there be another cross stitch in your near future? Love the fabrics for the new togs ")
ReplyDeleteNice finish! Cross stitch can be super time consuming - I have a love/hate relationship with it. Love your little Yorkie - I used to have one and they are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat finish thanks for linking up.
ReplyDeleteThe bears' cross stitch is gorgeous :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your cute bears, esp the butterflies. (personal favorite) Do you do anything special to prevent the floss colors from running when you wash a counted cross stitch?
ReplyDeleteThe bears are just so cute!! What a bummer to have to unpin a large quilt and redo it after washing the backing. It would be nasty having to work with all that dust, though.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the first finish of 2015. I'm so glad it was the backing that needed washing!
