Are you ready for some trick or treats? I'm not quite ready. First I need to find my little witchy black cat. Oh there you are. Are you ready to cast a few spells?
Opps sorry mom just having a hug with Lucy. Be with you in a minute.
OK so my kitty has just ditched me for a long cuddle with Lucy, my cauldron is empty and I did't have the ingredients for the 'complete all your UFO's' spell. Never mind my trusty sewing machine helped make magic happen and between us we completed my project for the hop. I wanted to make a Halloween table topper for my coffee table. I have a fruit bowl one,
and I have one to celebrate Valentine's day but nothing for Halloween.
I pulled the fabric from my scraps box. It's a favourite spell of mine to create something from my scraps and left overs. Picasso wanted to be part of the topper and helped by sitting on the fabric to make sure it behaved. That gave me the idea to include him in the pattern. I kept the pattern simple and I'm pleased with the result. It was fun to make and is perfect for my coffee table.
Picasso sat for the template of the cat and it has his green eyes. The quilting on the pumpkin doesn't show up very well on the photo but it looks OK in person. I think I'll need more chocolate for Halloween as I had to test some to make sure it tasted good..
Now if you hop on your broomsticks you'll be able to whizz off to see what's brewing on these other blogs. You'll be sure to find some amazing projects

Thank you Carole for hosting another fabulous hop.Halloween isn't such a big thing in England but as a family we like to join in with the fun. I'll see you all later as I'm off to my broomstick flying lesson so I can visit all these blogs.

Your project is really fun, and what a great idea to include Picasso...not that he gave you a choice!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a black cat named Shadow and he wasn't much help with casting spells either. But Picasso is beautiful in spite of his lack of magical skills. Your Witchy Stitchy table topper is so cute with him sitting there...love it! I've had to taste the chocolate candy, too, just in case it wasn't up to Halloween standards. I'm so glad you flew in to join the hop!
ReplyDeleteCute table topper. After reading your post I am wishing I had some chocolate to sample but I'll have to settle for oatmeal cookies.
ReplyDeleteI love this table topper. Just my kind of Halloween. It is so great that Picasso gave you inspiration. I'm not buying any candy this year. Hubby and I are both working that afternoon and evening so the Trick or Treaters will be disappointed. We definitely don't need to be eating it all by ourselves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful table topper. Your feline inspiration was right on. I give out full sized chocolate bars on Halloween so sampling can give me a tummy ache as I need to try every flavour. :)
ReplyDeletePicasso made a wonderful subject for his portrait. It is wonderful and so is Picasso!
ReplyDeleteCute project, and Picasso gave you great inspiration! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWell of course we always test the candy to make sure it is good to hand out right!
ReplyDeleteLove your post today, very amusing indeed! And your table topper is just the thing for the Halloween season. Like UK, Halloween is not a big thing down here in New Zealand, certainly wasn't around when we were growing up.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. Picasso is an excellent model!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Picasso....and your project with us today! :)
ReplyDeleteI *adore* the black cat sitting on the pumpkin!! What a darling topper!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAll three toppers look wonderful. I love the black cat with green eyes on the Halloween topper. Your cat was the perfect model.
ReplyDeleteHi Lyndsey! I know I'm supposed to be commenting on your pumpkin topper, but first - that Valentine Day topper is so darn cute. I love the fabrics you chose and how all the hearts are tied together. So very cute - all of your toppers are great. And Picasso sitting atop your pumpkin makes it extra special. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteGreat table toppers! You do beautiful work. So glad Picasso posed for your Halloween topper because it is spooktacular! So glad you participated in this hop and shared your lovely projects.
ReplyDeleteVery nice table toppers! It would be great to have one for every month. Hmmm.. maybe I could accomplish one for each season. {Will add to list.} Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, Lyndsey!! Picasso makes a great model! Love all your toppers.
