A win and OMG

Image result for england flag

Have you been watching the world cup? I haven't as  the belief in my family is that if I watch the match our team loses. When after the extra time the score was evens I really wanted to watch the penalties but decided I'd better not.  It was worth it since we won on penalties. Well done to the England team.

It really is wall to wall sport at the moment. We live very close to Wimbledon tennis and it affects my journey home. The journey to work is OK since the tennis doesn't start until lunch time but this evening I was driving past as people were leaving. A couple of people stepped into the road in front of me to take photos of the area and  a lot were walking in the road so they could walk in a line and chat to each other. It's most irritating when you've had a long and tiring day at work and just want to get home, have a cup of tea and put your feet up. Don't get me wrong I like tennis but not when it adds time to my journey home.

It's the beginning of the month and so time to consider my goal for the month. I recently made a baby quilt for one of my students. Her baby is due in September and the class is holding a baby shower for her at the end of this month. Finishing the baby quilt is therefore my main priority for the month. The quilt is already prepared ready for quilting. I need to get the thread I want but once I've got that I will be able to make a start. The quilt is crib sized and so won't take long to complete.

The last decision I need to make is the choice of the binding. I have several possibilities but I'm not sure about any of them. I'll make the final decision when I've completed the quilting.

I also need a hand stitching project for the month. I'm currently working on the bag ladies that I started last year. I've almost finished Earlene who I was working on last month so I need to pick the next one to finish. My lady for next month is this one. I can't remember her name at the moment but I'll check later. I've done very little work on her so far so completing her in a month will be a bit of a challenge

Tomorrow I'm going away with John and a group of friends. We will be visiting Stonehenge and then travelling to Salisbury. I've recharged the camera battery and I'm also going to take my sketchbook and my hand stitching.

I'm linking this post with Patty from Elm Street Quilts for the July OMG link up Having failed to complete my goal last month I'm hoping to achieve my July goal. Go check out what everyone is planning to complete this month.
